Muscle Failure โ€“ At Home & On the Go Workout Series | Edge Body Boot Camp Omaha

March 6, 2018 by Edge Body Boot Camp Omaha Leave a Comment

The title explains it all!

This workout is going to challenge similar muscle groups as you work to get as many reps as possible.

We aren’t always in a location where we have access to a gym or weights, so we have to get a little creative with bodyweight exercises to get in a workout that challenges us. Sometimes, just getting in some movement during a vacation is all you need to keep your sanity and feel like you’re not losing everything you’ve gained in the gym.

So next time you can’t make it to class or you’re out of town, try this one!!

Each exercise is performed for a minute straight to accumulate as many reps as you can. Once that minute is up you immediately move on to the next exercise listed. Once you have completed the full list of exercises, you will rest 1 minute. Repeat a minimum of 3x, 4-5 is the challenge! Watch the above video for full workout explanation and exercise demonstration.

October 17, 2017 by Missy Henry Leave a Comment

This is a great one to challenge yourself to push right until the very end!!

Don’t slow down! Work to get as many reps in the last AMRAP as you did in the first one.

6, 4-minute AMRAPs:
4 Burpees
6 Pushups
12 Bodyweight Squats
*1:00 rest between AMRAPs

Perform the rep scheme as many times as you can in the 4 minutes. Then rest for 1:00. repeat this cycle 6 times trying to put in the same amount of work on the last AMRAP as you did on the first one.

Good luck!!

How workouts get written- The way we program for you!

August 13, 2017 by Missy Henry Leave a Comment

“Burpees again?!?!”

“How do you guys come up with this stuff?!?”

We hear these questions from our members all the time. How do we make our workouts? How do we program? AND why does it even matter? Well it does matter, and it can be an important part of how people get results and improve their health and fitness. Sure, you can add-in burpees or box jumps to make any workout more difficult, but are you at a gym where the workouts are programmed with progression in mind so that you are truly working towards your goals? Well, if you aren’t, then you should be.

Consistent movement can make you sweat, but making sure the workouts hit certain muscle groups or intensities ensures that you are staying balanced and continue to lose weight and/or get stronger. These are just a few things that go into the way we program at Edge Body Omaha. Every workout, every week is crafted to fit our members needs and to make sure everyone is moving one step closer to where they want to be in their health and fitness. Oh and we have some fun along the way too. ๐Ÿ™‚

Check out the above video to debunk some myths about how workouts are written here and just how seriously we take YOUR progress! ๐Ÿ™‚
